War and Horses | Illustrated Novel | Break Kickstarter
Created by Oneshi Press
A weird western illustrated novel set in the Children of Gaia fantasy universe.
Deep in the dustbowl of the newly formed Republic of Draven, the old aristocracy coexists with a new democratic government in an uneasy peace that’s often broken by conflict. Famine and drought wrack the once-fertile region—and violence is a spark to dry grass.
Into the midst of the chaos walks a shadowy figure: the Triggerman. The only thing certain about him is that he leaves a trail of chaos in his wake. Following that trail is writer Landon Ford, a journalist documenting the Triggerman’s exploits and digging for the truth of his identity.
"War & Horses" is Ford’s work: a series of dime-store books popular in both Terra and the new world of Rendaraia...and whispered by some to be ridiculous fiction. But the Triggerman is very real—and his true purpose may become the story of Ford’s life.
"War & Horses" is the second full-length book in the Children of Gaia series, following "The Great Nations of Rendaraia" and two short comics: "Refuge" and "Carrying Iron."

Well howdy, War & Horses backer!
There's certainly an undercurrent of menace that runs through War&Horses, wouldn't you say? That and a whole lot of Shwhiskey brand whiskey, a product that appears not just in this book, but others in the Children of Gaia series, as well as through our comic book series TracyQueen, PACK, and Mr.Guy:ZombieHunter.
At Oneshi Press, we love making products and brands that exist in the worlds we build, in the hopes of someday turning them into a reality in our world, as well.
Well, we're happy to report that the first such crossover is happening rightnow!
Do you love coffee and hate doom? Then we've got a Kickstarter campaign for you.
TarMucks is a fictional brand of coffee we invented for our comics series years ago, and we've always dreamed of the day we could see its Cthulhu logo emblazoned on real coffee cups.
Now, we're making our dream come true!
In our new Kickstarter campaign, you can grab:
A 16-page comic about TarMucks' glorious fight to keep the Cthulhu safely asleep beneath the Pacific.
Real TarMucks coffee—the dark roasted Get Java blend, to be precise…
A BPA-free, biodegradable, reusable TarMucks-brand travel mug!
So, just like a character from one of our worlds, now you can sip real TarMucks coffee while you read a delightful comic written by Lynsey G and Jayel Draco, and illustrated by Michel Abstracto!
We've also partnered with some of the best in the indie publishing biz to offer more Cthulhu and more beverages, too:
Cthulhu Is Hard to Caffeinate: This reward tier pairs Russell Nohelty's epic Cthulhu Is Hard to Spell:The Terrible Twos comics anthology with a decaf coffee blend, for those who like to get a little sleep after they read about the end of the world.
Cocoa Is for Cthulhu: This adorably eldritch tier combines the classic CIsforCthulhu kids' board book with a delightful hot cocoa blend, just especially for your little monsters!
Not only that, but the campaign is really trying to save the world from:
Plastic pollution: Reusable, biodegradable mugs keep plastic out of landfills and our oceans! Plus, we're finding ways to recycle the flexible plastic packaging the coffee comes in!
Poor printing practices: We're printing TarMucks:Origins on recycled and sustainably sourced paper stock with Short Run Printing, a US-based company that reduces waste and uses non-toxic inks.
Planting trees: We've officially partnered with OneTreePlanted.org to plant a tree for every.single. backer. on this campaign!
So, pony up and check out our Kickstarter campaign to see if it's right for you!
And if you like pulpy junk-food sci-fi, mixed with talking animal best friends, along with a dash of noir-style underworld crime and a whole lot of empowered sex-positive feminism…
You'll love Tracy Queen!
Tracy Queen broke away from her grandfather's crime syndicate to pursue a life of pleasure as an independent adult cam model.
But her rise to indie smut stardom has attracted all the wrong kinds of attention, and Tracy realizes she'll have to fight to hold on to the liberation she's worked so hard to forge for herself.
In Volume 3, Tracy's feeling pressure to fall in line with her grandfather's violent ways, or with a kingpin's demands that he come work for her. Either way, they want her to give up her freedom.
But Tracy refuses. She wants more for herself.
Pushed to the brink, she makes a decision that will change everything…
Get That Booty!
The campaign is your chance to preorder TracyQueenV3:IWantMore, catch up on Volumes 1 and 2, order oodles of other Oneshi Press comics, and load up on super-duper fun rewards, like…

– Tue, Oct 12, 2021 at 03:35:24 PM
Hi there, COG fan,
It's been a while since we've released any new stories from the sci-fi-fantasy universe of Children of Gaia…but we're excited to tell you that the wait is almost over!
Introducing "Children of Gaia: The Invitation"
Jayel Draco, one of the co-creators of Children of Gaia (COG), has written and illustrated a brand-new 8-page comic set in the COG universe—"The Invitation." It will appear in the Becoming Anthology, an epic collection of 16 short comics from 37 indie creators, launching Monday on Kickstarter!
About the Comic
"The Invitation" takes place in the realm of Terra, where humans are the dominant species and magic has been long forgotten. There, Eldridge T. Quinn, national hero, reminisces about the journey that changed his life.
A dangerous expedition into the wilds of an untamed land, where he's tasked with finding the key to Terran domination of the new world.
The expedition goes horribly awry, but when Eldridge returns home, he's lauded as a hero—though he feels like anything but.
Now, Eldridge is being asked to risk his life yet again for a brand-new, and far more dangerous, venture into the new world of Rendaraia…
Will he accept?
The only way to find out is in "The Invitation," an 8-page comic inside the Becoming Anthology, launching next Monday, October 18, on Kickstarter!
e hope you'll show your support by following the pre-launch page now to be notified when the campaign launches!

Adopt a Zombie & Tell Its Story Today!
– Fri, Oct 30, 2020 at 03:04:02 PM
Together with brilliant interactive storyteller Caleb Palmquist, the Oneshi Press crew who brought you War& Horses is proud to announce the launch of an unprecedented, utterly original, interactive story: The Zombie Adoption Program.
About the Zombie Adoption Program
Handsome Farmer Curtis (pictured above, and who you may recognize from Mr. Guy: Zombie Hunter) was just a simple farmer. Like many of us, he was trying to figure out how to move forward in strange and frightening times. He’d tried the more conventional approaches to zombie control, even went as far as to hire a certain, very charismatic zombie hunter… But that was big-time spendy, and the clean-up sure was a chore.
And that’s when it hit him.
Heck, these shamblin’ types were just trying to un-live their best after-lives! Why spend all his hard-earned cash on zombie hunters when he could just give these un-dead folks some tender loving after-life care? So, he decided to turn his farm into the Sanctuary for the Living Impaired and launch the Zombie Adoption Program to fund his vision.
Adopt a Zombie & Tell Its Story
The Zombie Adoption Program depends on kindhearted folks like yourselves to shelter, feed, and provide for the living-impaired individuals residing at the Sanctuary. For a monthly donation of just $3 a month, you can adopt one of the recently un-deceased.
And, more than that, your subscription will put you in control of their after-life here at the sanctuary! You’ll help us make decisions about their upkeep, from what we feed the un-dead, to how they spend their leisure time, to the furnishings in the barn where they stay!
We’ll send you monthly images of your zombie and their friends, updates from around the sanctuary, and lots more. So you’ll never miss a moment of their exciting—but peaceful—after-life!
Then Party With Us!
The Zombie Adoption Program launches today, and boy howdy, are we excited! Join us tonight as we stream live on Twitch to celebrate the launch, carve pumpkins, and eat brains (Jell-O mold brains, that is). We'll go live around 5:00 MDT and stay online till we're all tuckered out. Come hang out with us and join in the live chat when you sign in to Twitch!
